ALS..What is it? It stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It is a motor neuron disease/neurodegenerative disease causing degeneration of the brain and spinal cord motor neurons. This causes loss of motor functions - walking, swallowing, breathing. There is no cure and little is known about the cause. The Minnesota Chapter who brought the walk to our state and to my home town of Bismarck, ND are looking to raise funds to empower people to live fuller lives by providing care and support. Men, women, children, pets and more showed up today to give their support to those who are struggling with ALS! Way to go ND!!
